Company Profile

The Glasshouse & Timber Co began manufacturing hardwood conservatories over five years ago. After having been employed in the building industry from leaving school, almost 30 years ago, initially serving my time as an apprentice carpenter & joiner, through to becoming a building company director, I have always enjoyed my best time `hands on, at the work face`.

It was during a conversation with Matthew Mardsen, one of my former apprentices who has his own company, Matthew Marsden Furniture Ltd, which manufactures hand made kitchens, that he was constantly being asked by his clients were they could get a hardwood conservatory. As my role as company director meant I was constantly tied to a desk it did not take too much persuading to set up The Glasshouse & Timber Co Ltd.

Each conservatory we make here at our Eccleston workshops is totally individual using the best materials available, all our timber is supplied by local companies who are FSC registered and supply timber from sustainable sources. It gives us immense satisfaction to create a room from the initial contact with each client through to the final completion, having been involved at every stage. We feel that the quality of our product is equal to that of the well known market leaders but without the premium cost. Our specialism, of which we are proud, is not just the quality of the product but combined together with our hands on approach, attention to detail, customer satisfaction and after sales, ensures we offer the best possible service.

During my time in the building industry I have worked on many varied and interesting projects for different clients, but was only involved in the construction process. Now I am involved from the initial conception and design stage, right through to completion and nothing gives greater satisfaction than the approval and praise from a satisfied customer.
